Sometimes just knowing the automaker you trust is headed in the right direction is enough, even if it releases a model that won't be available here in the United States. This is exactly how Lovering Volvo in Concord feels about the release of the Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid. A brainchild of the partnership between Volvo and Swedish energy supplier, Vattenfall, the new hybrid will debut in the European market next year.
When running only on electric power, the new Volvo V60 has a driving range of up to 50 km (31 miles). Drivers can also utilize the diesel-hybrid system to get a total operating range of 1200 km (745 miles). In addition to impressive driving range, the plug-in hybrid model contains a fuel economy rating of 124 miles per gallon and puts out only 46 g/km of CO2 emissions, making it even greener than some of the top competitors.
Not only is the new European Volvo V60 evidence of the automaker's dedication to creating better fuel-efficient technology, it also demonstrates the desire to create a more eco-friendly society as a whole. Stefan Jacoby, President and CEO of Volvo says, "This project shows how co-operation between experts in different areas brings us closer to the transition from individually carbon dioxide-lean products to a climate-smart lifestyle,"1.
Parallel to V60 production is that of a new Volvo C30 all-electric model. While waiting for the release of both, Lovering Volvo in Concord invites you to check out any other new Volvo models.
