Both the 2013 S60 and the A4 2.0T have a similar starting price, but come with drastically different amounts of power. The S60 gives drivers the option of two different engines:

 
• The T5: an inline 5-cylinder, turbocharged engine rated at 250hp and 266 lb-ft of torque between 1800rpm and 4800rpm
 
• The T6: an inline 6-cylinder, turbocharged engine with a power output of 300hp and 325 lb-ft of torque between 2100rpm and 4200rpm

The A4 is available only with the 2.0T engine, with a power output of 211hp and 258 lb-ft of torque.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, one of the industries most respected compasses for vehicle safety, has recognized the Volvo S60 as a 2013 Top Safety Pick+ thanks to its strong performance in safety tests. Despite increased testing regulations, the S60 was still able to pick up the award. Though the Audi received a 2013 Top Safety Pick award, it did not participate in the vital new partial overlap test like the S60.

The S60 also comes standard with Bluetooth connectivity, allowing drivers to place handsfree calls and stream audio. The Audi A4 requires an upgrade to be equipped with Bluetooth.
